Sam Holst

Bio

Sam Holst layers his projects with dimension, balancing drama, humor, and wit with a hint of quirk and darkness, infusing visuals with his fresh perspective and cinematic style.

Holst’s short film for Pepto Bismol “Boy Raised by Goats” won Gold and Silver Clio Awards as well as a Silver Lion, while his offbeat campaign for Otrivin earned much industry recognition, including a Gold Lion.

His dramatic short film, “Meathead” represented as one of nine films selected to screen In Competition at the 64th Cannes Film Festival and earned the Crystal Bear Award for Best Short Film at the 62nd Berlin Film Festival.

Holst entered the film and advertising circuit via branded short “Swing”, which he wrote and directed for the Transport Accident Commission (TAC). The project screened at various festivals around the world and ultimately concluded as a finalist for the CFP-E/Shots Young Director Award, also nabbing a spot in New Director Showcases by both Shots and SHOOT.

He was selected as one of six filmmakers to participate in the Cinéfondation Residence in Paris, hosted by the Cannes Film Festival, to write and develop his debut feature film “Last Autumn”, currently in financing.
